Dubird was born out of a simple need: I wanted a record stand that could hold my high-rotation albums—something better than stacking them on the floor or worrying about my dog, Jimbo, wrecking them. I wanted to display my records like the art they are because, let’s face it, album covers can be amazing, and hiding them in crates or on shelves just didn’t feel right. Crates are practical, but they’re not exactly stylish.

When I couldn’t find anything I liked, I decided to create it myself. That’s when The Stack came to life. It’s a modern take on a crate—open, simple, and perfect for flipping through my favorite albums of the week. It holds about 30 records and even looks great when it’s empty, almost like a decorative piece that belongs in the room.

Next, I created The Stand—initially designed as a “Now Playing” display. But then I started using it to showcase records and album covers, and friends started asking for one. That’s when I realized there was something potentially special here. I wanted to design something that merged mid-century style with a modern twist, giving my stands a look that felt as musical as the vinyl they hold.

Inspired by the same materials and aesthetic, I thought, why not make plant stands? So, I created Levitate Plant Stands, using thicker materials and a sleek, transparent base. The tops are interchangeable, allowing them to fit any plant or décor style. It’s amazing how these stands transformed my space, blending perfectly with my plants and records, and allowing me to change the room’s vibe with ease.

At the heart of it all, home for me is music, plants, and a giant dog named Jimbo. I hope you enjoy what we’ve created as much as we do.
